Illy Coffee Company

By day, just nip downstairs to sit outside enjoying a hot cup of Illy coffee while trying to figure out where the sea and the sky meet. By night, this remarkable café breaks out the cocktails and the wine and serves up delicious tapas style snacks. Is it an evening out, or is it really an evening in? Let’s say it’s both and watch the bartender whizz up another coral-colored cocktail – it’s not like you’re driving home tonight.

Ice Cream Parlor Luciano

The Award-winning ice cream creators of Luciano, who have taken South Holland by storm, have finally come home. Clearly, Bonaire is where they were always meant to be, because let’s face it: sun, sea and ice cream belong together. Here on Bonaire, Luciano marries the very highest quality ice cream, made from honest, fresh ingredients, with the most idyllic location. Which is, of course, right outside your front door. Who could resist those mouth-watering swirls of fresh strawberry, deep green pistachio, Madagascan vanilla, served up in a crisp cone or as a decadent sundae topped with cream? As owner Luc Blok says: “Ice cream is a luxury that everyone can afford.” So no need to hold back: step inside and enjoy what is simply the best ice cream on the island.

La Crêperie: Belgian waffles & French pancakes

If you want a change from Bonaire’s fresh local seafood, why not enjoy the French and Belgian flavors that Pierre and Geoffrey serve up daily in La Crêperie? Treat yourself to a pure and simple sweet crêpe or Belgian waffle, or pile them high with elaborate combinations of toppings. Alternatively, why not do lunch over a glass of wine and a savory galette with ham and cheese, bacon or salmon to get your strength up for an afternoon of exploring? But don’t worry, nobody will bat an eyelid if all you want to do is linger for hours over a cappuccino while staring out at Klein Bonaire, wondering if the baby turtles have hatched yet – because the food at La Crêperie may be Franco-Belgian, but the attitude is definitely Caribbean.
